Decision notes

Short context notes that keep shared links useful months later.

Context beats memory

A title and URL tell you what a link is. A decision note tells you why it matters. The goal is to capture the reason it was saved so others can trust the link without guessing.

What to include

  • Purpose: What question does this link answer?
  • Owner: Who added it and who relies on it?
  • Freshness: When should it be reviewed again?

Examples

  • "Use for Q2 pricing comparisons. Reviewed Apr 2026."
  • "Approved vendor list for onboarding. Owner: Finance."
  • "Primary research source, cite in client report."

Keep it short

Notes are most useful when they are short and factual. A single sentence is often enough to preserve the decision.
